Available services in Canada

Though both Uber and Lyft operate in the major metropolitan areas of Canada, Lyft only services two provinces—British Columbia and Ontario—while Uber operates in 32 cities / metropolitan areas, including Vancouver, Halifax, Calgary, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton. Unfortunately, because of Canada's vast area, much of it is still not serviced by either provider due to limited population density. Served areas in Canada tend to have less options than in the United States, though most still have XL vehicles available, which have more seats for larger groups, and some offer premium vehicles (Uber Premier & Lyft Lux) as well as the Uber Green and Uber Comfort services. Riders may be able to schedule trips for up to 30 or 7 days in advance for Uber and Lyft respectively, though this depends on the area. Lyft also offers its Wait & Save service in Canada, which offers discounts in exchange for longer wait times, while Uber does not offer its corresponding service, UberX Saver. Uber Eats, however, seems to be available in just as many, if not more locations than Uber rides are.
